An Evening for Heroes was a sold-out success Thursday night, May 3, at the Shreveport Convention Center as nearly 900 people came to hear about the area's emergency medical system, first responders and Level 1 Trauma Center at LSU Medical Center. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of two videos detailing the journeys of two accident victims, including LSU medical student Emily Davis and Susanna Moss, a young wife and mother from Haynesville. Both have overcome devastating injuries from accidents in 2011. A total of 84 heroes - from 911 operators to firefighters to EMT and medical staff were honored for helping the women.
The following two videos, screened at the event in 2012, tell the story of two local trauma patients, and provide a visual example of our Trauma system at its finest.
