Support Reach Out and Read

A Doctor. A Family. A Book.

A simple solution that starts with reading aloud.

Thank you for joining with us to ensure that every young child knows the warmth and joy of sharing books with someone who loves them.

Reach Out and Read is a national pediatric literacy program dedicated to making early literacy a standard part of pediatric primary healthcare. Reach Out and Read prepares America's youngest children to succeed by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. Annually, the LSU Heath Shreveport branch of Reach Out and Read serves more than 10,000 children in our community.

Each $20 donation purchases 10 books - a book at each well-child visit from 6 months to 5 years of age.
