Medical education is evolving, and we must adapt with it. Our medical and allied health students learn best in collaborative environments outfitted with the latest tools of the digital age. LSU Health Shreveport is limited by the constraints of a medical library built for study in a different era.

Your donation will retrofit and remodel our medical library to meet the needs of 21st century medical education. This is mission critical. Creating an educational environment that produces highly-trained physicians and health care professionals is essential to recruiting, retaining, and preparing Louisiana’s workforce of the future.

“The methods of studying medicine have vastly changed since 1975.” Says Professor of Anatomy Dr. David Desha. “When our medical library was built, students didn’t collaborate with laptops and the internet didn’t even exist. Today, that’s necessary to keep pace with medical innovation.”
