Medical Alumni of LSU Health Shreveport

The Medical Alumni Association’s mission is to strengthen and support the LSU Health Shreveport’s School of Medicine by promoting life-long relationships between alumni, current students, trainees and faculty.

We do so by cultivating relationships with our graduates, supporting current students on their journey to join our noble profession, and providing programs and opportunities for alumni to give back to and engage with their alma mater.

Raised funds for campus upgrades and School of Medicine initiatives to improve the learning environment at LSU Health Shreveport.

Provided student activities, funded projects, and encouraged mentorship opportunities to enrich student life and professional development.

Kept alumni informed and engaged through our social media, emails, and our website.

Brought alumni back to campus and reconnected former classmates with alumni reunions and events.

And much, much more!

We invite you to be an active member of the Alumni Association as we help advance the educational experience for our next generation of alumni. We hope you will join us for your reunion or an upcoming event. Be sure to check out our social media sites and photo galleries of past events.

Give Back & Get Involved

Join the White Coat Society!

The White Coat Society has been established to celebrate the partnership between our loyal alumni and the LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine.

By supporting our current medical students with an annual gift to the White Coat Scholarship Fund, the DeSha Endowment, or the White Coat Ceremony Sponsor Fund, you are an integral part of our students’ education.

Give back to the next generation of healthcare leaders.

One way to reconnect and support LSU Health Shreveport is to volunteer as a host for our fourth-year medical students as they travel for residency interviews. On average, a student will have twelve interviews across the country scheduled between October and January. Alumni volunteers can help offset the financial burden of such travel by providing students with free housing, meals, and transportation in the vicinity of their interview sites.
