Clayton Moock
An Evening for Healers 2024
April 19, 2022 should have been a normal day for Clayton Moock. He and a coworker were severely burned while inspecting a natural gas pipeline that exploded near Barksdale Airforce Base that spring day. Clay was immediately taken to the regional burn center at Ochsner LSU Health, where they determined he was burned on 71-85% of his body. Clay endured hundreds of surgeries, life threatening infections, months in the hospital, and weeks at an in-patient rehabilitation facility. He returned home 13 months later, greeted warmly by family, friends, and his large community of support.
The LSU Health Sciences Foundation supports LSU Health Shreveport and Ochsner LSU Health’s mission to teach, heal, discover, and innovate. Over the past 15 years, An Evening for Healers has raised over $6.1 million for our region’s only academic health center.
