Scholarship Support for the Next Generation of PAs

The Broadwell Scholarship for Physician Assistant Students

We are pleased to announce the School of Allied Health Professions’ new endowed scholarship, the Broadwell Scholarship for PA Students. This generous endowment, funded by Dr. Larry and Mrs. Louise Broadwell, will allow the SAHP to award annual merit-based scholarships to a current PA student. The Broadwell Scholarship is intended to provide a physician assistant student with funds to defray the cost of tuition, educational, and living expenses.

Just $5,000 remains to unlock a potential $40,000 matching gift from the Board of Regents! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are already close to this goal!

Help us reach our $5,000 goal by making a gift today!

The Physician Assistant Program 25th Anniversary Campaign

In 2019, the School of Allied Health Professions celebrated the 25th year of preparing qualified Physician Assistants to provide health care for Louisiana citizens. That same year, we embarked on a bold plan to expand access to the PA program at the SAHP at LSU Health Shreveport.

We are excited to announce the creation of a new scholarship fund for highly qualified students. These scholarships will allow us to enhance our recruitment efforts and grow our program.

Two PA students from the incoming Class of ’25 will be awarded a scholarship in summer ’23. We invite you to join us and make an impact!

I’m grateful to the faculty and to the alumni and donors that made this scholarship possible. My father was diagnosed with cancer just prior to my start in the program and this scholarship was a huge help to me and my family as our financial situation shifted.
